Benefits of Mid-Atlantic
AHMA
Membership
Founded
in 1993, the Mid-Atlantic Affordable Housing Management Association
is a non-profit organization whose members are owners and managers of
affordable multifamily housing communities throughout Virginia, Maryland,
Washington, D.C., and West Virginia.
We are part of a national network of AHMAs under our national organization,
NAHMA. NAHMA is our ally and advocate in Washington, making a difference
every day in issues affecting our industry.
|
Our purpose is to provide comprehensive and timely services and representation
for our membership and the affordable housing industry through advocacy,
education, and networking. We achieve our mission by acting as a primary
source for information in the affordable housing industry; by promoting
a standard of excellence in the management of affordable housing; by
building and maintaining a continuing dialogue with HUD and other regulatory
agencies in solving common problems; by improving members' businesses
by providing a venue for the sharing of ideas and information; by promptly
informing members of changing housing policies and procedures; and by
speaking with one voice on issues of concern.
We recognize that our strength is in our numbers:
•
The more members we have, the greater our clout on Capitol Hill and
with local regulatory agencies.
• The greater our clout on Capitol Hill, the greater the influence
we have on regulations that affect our daily work.
• More members and more active participation in association
events provide more opportunities for networking and peer learning.
• An active and informed membership results in greater acknowledgement
of our industry’s professionalism.
• A bigger and stronger association provides greater resources
to make a difference in affordable housing.
